In a monochromatic color scheme, only one hue is used.
The hue is lightened by adding white to it (tints), darkened by adding black to it (shades), and dulled by adding grey to it (tones).Additionally, pure black and white may be incorporated into a monochromatic color scheme.

Project Goal:
Create a monochromatic painting using tints and shades from a reference image.

Target 1:
Transfer your reference image to watercolor paper using a graphite transfer.
Target 2:
Using only various dilutions of black paint shade your transferred image.
Target 3:
Wash your whole image with a single chromatic wash.
